5,000 Kettlebell Snatches in 5 weeks started Oct. 1st.
Last year., I found some website that issued a 5,000-snatch challenge in 5 weeks. I can’t remember the website, or I would surely attribute this challenge to it (If it was yours, please drop me a line, and I’ll give credit where it’s due).
Well, I jumped in and did it. I learned a lot about hand care, and got a lot more efficient in my technique. I still have a long way to go, so I decided to repeat the same thing this year.
Yes, it is kinda boring, but on nights like tonight – when I really didn’t feel like working out – it sure is a good motivator.
There are a few others taking part this year, after I posted my undertaking on Facebook. Kerri at High Altitude Fitness (www.highaltitudefitness.com) is on board and so is Sue from Portland’s Elite Kettlebell Gym (www.elitekettlebellgym.com).
If I didn’t extend an invitation to you to take part in the challenge, don’t feel hurt. I don’t advise it. And if I’m training you, I don’t want you to put the wear on your hands that could take away from your other workouts.
I also think there are more productive things you could probably be doing. I think the same thing with swings might be more beneficial, or perhaps Turkish Getups (more on that later).
But, last year it was snatches, so this year it will be as well, for me.
My goal this year is to be able to do the entire 200 with a 24kg without setting the bell down once, and do at least 100 reps with only one hand switch.
So, drop me a line, ask what rep I’m on and hold me accountable!
